9/17/18: Dulles

Dulles HS is hiring a new head Speech & Debate coach: preferably one who can also teach social studies and start immediately. Anyone with experience teaching, participating, and/or coaching debate is welcome to inquire. A bachelors degree is required, teaching experience preferred, and we can work with you to get the proper certifications. FBISD starting teacher salary is $53,000, with an additional $7,800 stipend for coaching Speech and Debate. Team is about 60 kids, about 30-40 active at any time. We do TFA, UIL, NSDA, and TOC circuits. We have an active parent booster club and very supportive community.

7/30/18: Harmony Sugar Land

Harmony Sugar Land is looking for a new coach/teacher. The position would be for two beginner level debate classes, two advanced debate classes, and two writing lab classes. The team is competitive on the Houston circuit and had past TFA state qualifications. Dedicated students and supportive parents and staff. Harmony is a public charter school.

6/21/18: Montwood HS

Montwood High School is advertising for a Speech and Debate Coach. The district is Socorro independent School District. It is the second largest district in El Paso. Very supportive administration.

5/29/18: Athens HS

Athens High School is seeking a debate coach for the 2018-2019 school year. The teaching obligation is debate and professional communications. Monsignor Kelly Catholic HS also has a position available. They are advertising for speech/drama, but they need debate as well. The current drama teacher is not leaving, just wanting to concentrate on her other classes. Marita Duesler retired as the debate coach and that position is vacant. 5/23/18: A&M Consolidated HS

A&M Consolidated High School is seeking a highly qualified speech & debate coach to fill an open position for the 2018-2019 school year. Job requirements would include the following courses: Comm App, Debate I-IV, Oral Interp I-IV, and Theatre Arts I. This position requires an individual who will continue the growth of an already well-established program. Our program is very well-rounded, and includes competitors in all three sectors of forensics, but has a heavy emphasis on speech events. AMCHS & College Station ISD expects that the instructor will prepare the team for local, state, and national tournaments through in-class prep (upper-level classes) and after-school practices. Due to our geographic location, typical schedule includes traveling overnight 2-3 weekends per month (typically to Houston-area tournaments). A stipend for after-school activities and weekend travel will supplement extra duties. We have a healthy budget and supportive administration.

5/22/18: Cypress Fairbanks ISD

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has two openings for certified debate teachers for the 2018-2019 school year at the following high schools in the Houston area: Cypress Ranch and Langham Creek. Candidates with teaching certification in both speech and English are preferred. Tournament participation is expected, and a generous stipend is provided. CFISD enjoys strong support for its debate programs and teachers, including a district-level curriculum coordinator and instructional coach who are invested in debate education. CFISD also offers a welcoming debate teaching environment for both new and veteran coaches. Austin Community College is proud to announce an opening for a FT Faculty position in Austin, TX. Start date: Spring, 2019.

Beyond the essential duties of teaching Interpersonal, Public Speaking, Business & Professional Speaking and the basic Intro to Human Communication course, candidates are required to participate in department initiatives and college-wide committees.
